Reflections on the day
Shirley and Richard got ready in separate rooms of the same house and somehow didn’t see each other until their first look out on the deck. Their gorgeous dog, Echo, wanted to be in literally every getting-ready photo. I was not mad about it.
Richard had planned the classical music for the ceremony to a T, and it suited it beautifully. Afterwards we headed into the paddocks for portraits, with the Yarra Valley around them and a few goats hanging out in the background.
Instead of a first dance, they sang a pop duet together, and their guests played games, including musical chairs. They chose the parts that mattered to them and made sure everyone had a genuinely good time.
